Physiotherapists assess and provide hands-on treatment and exercise prescription to address movement dysfunction. Physiotherapists also plan and implement individual treatment programs to treat acute, subacute or chronic injuries, prevent physical disability and maximize function. Treatment may include education, targeted exercises, joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, 'dry-needling', taping or bracing, electrotherapeutic modalities including TENS, interferential current, muscle stim or ultrasound, or the prescription of mobility equipment.
Physiotherapists graduate with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) from universities across Canada. Physiotherapists are licensed by the College of Healthcare Professionals of BC, which maintains a rigorous code of ethics and high standards of continuing competency.
Working closely with Physicians and other healthcare providers, Physiotherapists practice in private clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long term facilities, home care, industry and schools, as well as sports teams.

I am a physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in public and private practice, who has lived, worked and played in the spectacular Elk Valley for over 23 years.

Areas of interest include musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, manual therapy, Gunn IMS (dry-needling), post-operative rehabilitation, vestibular (vertigo) rehabilitation, concussion management and return-to-work planning.

I hold a BSc in Kinesiology from Western University, a Masters in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and an MSc in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. Other certifications include an Orthopedic Division Level 3 Manual Therapy Certification, CCMI Concussion Practitioner Certification, a certificate in Disability Management from Simon Fraser University and a 40-hr “Sports First Responder” first aid certificate.

I am truly a life-long learner and have taken too many courses in my areas of practice to list!

When I am not in my sole physiotherapy practice or working for the local health authority, you can find me shuttling kids to their numerous sports and activities, or out on the Fernie trails running, mountain biking and chasing fresh powder on the ski hill.

I look forward to helping all of my clients live pain-free and achieve their full potential in sport, work and life!
